TwinHive™

Two HexBeds™ joined into one larger, more productive garden feature.

TwinHive™ takes the core HexBed™ module and connects it into a larger growing form. By joining two similar-sized HexBeds™, TwinHive™ creates more planting space, a stronger visual anchor, and a layout that feels intentional from the start.

Two beds. One connected growing system.

What is a TwinHive™?

A TwinHive™ is created when two similar-sized HexBeds™ are joined together to form one expanded growing unit. Instead of treating each bed as a separate island, the TwinHive™ creates a larger connected planting space with more design possibilities.

For now, HHGS™ offers TwinHive™ configurations in Medium and Large sizes, giving gardeners two strong starting points for feature beds, food production, pollinator layouts, and mixed companion planting.

As the system grows, the TwinHive™ concept can be adapted across other similar-sized HexBeds™, including future custom builds. The principle is simple: when two compatible beds are connected thoughtfully, they become more than the sum of their parts.

Why Join Two HexBeds™?

A single HexBed™ is a strong starting point. A TwinHive™ creates a larger growing canvas.

⬢ More planting space in one connected layout
⬢ Stronger visual presence as a garden feature
⬢ Better opportunities for companion planting
⬢ Flexible zones for different crops or planting styles
⬢ More options for trellises, vertical supports, covers, and future accessories
⬢ A natural bridge between one bed and a larger HexScape™
⬢ A beautiful way to make productive growing feel intentional

TwinHive™ is especially useful when a gardener wants the beauty of the hexagonal form but needs more room for crops, pathways, vertical supports, protective covers, or layered planting combinations. By joining two compatible HexBeds™, the system creates more connection points and more design possibilities — making it easier to add trellises, climbing supports, seasonal protection, and future HHGS™ accessories as the garden grows.

Current TwinHive™ Sizes

At launch, TwinHive™ is focused on Medium and Large configurations. These sizes offer enough planting volume to feel substantial while still fitting into many residential yards, front gardens, and shared growing spaces.

Medium TwinHive™

The Medium TwinHive™ is a flexible option for gardeners who want more growing space without overwhelming a compact yard or patio-adjacent area. It can support mixed vegetables, herbs, flowers, pollinator plantings, garlic, greens, and vertical supports depending on the layout.

Large TwinHive™

The Large TwinHive™ creates a stronger feature bed with more room for productive planting, layered companion design, and larger crops. It works well as a visual centrepiece, a main food-growing bed, or the anchor point of a larger HexScape™.

Because TwinHive™ is based on joining similar-sized HexBeds™, future configurations may include additional standard sizes and custom-built pairings designed for specific sites, crops, and growing goals.

Designed for Planting Zones

One of the strengths of TwinHive™ is that it naturally creates zones. Each half of the bed can have its own planting focus while still belonging to one connected layout.

⬢ One side for tomatoes, one side for peppers
⬢ One side for herbs, one side for greens
⬢ One side for food crops, one side for pollinator flowers
⬢ One side for garlic and onions, one side for seasonal vegetables
⬢ One side for annual production, one side for perennial herbs or flowers

This makes TwinHive™ especially useful for companion planting, crop rotation, teaching gardens, and gardeners who want structure without losing creativity.

How TwinHive Fits Into a HexScape™

TwinHive™ is a natural next step in the HHGS™ system. It begins with the HexBed™ but expands the idea into a larger connected growing form.

It can work with HarvestSpire™ vertical supports for tomatoes, beans, cucumbers, and climbing crops. It can sit near a HarvestTower™ to add height and ecosystem function. It can be surrounded by MiniHex™ planters for herbs, flowers, seedlings, or smaller companion plants.

In a larger HexScape™, TwinHive™ can become an anchor: a central growing feature that other beds, paths, towers, and planting zones grow around.

TwinHive™ is where connection becomes visible.

Best Uses For TwinHive™

⬢ Feature beds in front yards or backyards
⬢ Larger vegetable and herb gardens
⬢ Tomato, pepper, and companion planting layouts
⬢ Pollinator-friendly edible landscapes
⬢ School and learning gardens
⬢ Shared garden spaces
⬢ Custom layouts where one HexBed™ is not quite enough
⬢ Starting points for larger HexScapes™

The form is standardized enough to be strong, but flexible enough to belong where it is planted.

Build a Bigger Growing Canvas

If one HexBed™ is the beginning, TwinHive™ is the next step — a larger, connected growing space designed for beauty, productivity, and future expansion.
